Common understanding of cross-links, team commitment, and an up-front impact investigation of measures planned represent essential key assets for successful and modern project management. Within the UPSIM project the consortium partner iCONDU provides its tool Simcision for effective and efficient project coordination purposes. During the initial phase of the project working groups established target and cause-effect-chain models for tailoring individual work-package targets like the open access/source strategy for credible simulation reference processes as well as a clear dissemination and exploitation strategy. Simulation of these models is used for predicting impacts and effectiveness of possible measures and project activities.

Simcision is based on the well-known “systems thinking” approach. This method accommodates the complexity of an issue, reconciles various perspectives, and takes into account reciprocal effects between the system elements.
